Online Editors Alliance holds special meeting and Iftar

A special meeting and Iftar Mahfil was held to welcome new members of the 'Online Editors Alliance (OEA)', an organisation of the heads of online and digital platforms of the country's leading media outlets, and to further advance the organisation's activities.

The meeting was held on the 19th floor of Bashundhara City in the capital on Thursday evening.

The event was presided over by OEA president Md Hasan Sharif (Daily Jugantor online editor), and was attended by vice-presidents Lutfor Rahman Himel (Banglanews24.com editor) and KM Zeaul Haque (Jago News acting editor), general secretary Mizanur Rahman Sohel (Daily Bhorer Kagoj online editor), joint general secretaries MAHM Kabir Ahmad (RTV head of digital) and Md Kamrul Islam Rubel (DBC News head of multimedia).

Besides, organising secretary Palash Mahmud (Daily Kalbela online editor), joint-organising secretary Sharafat Hussain (Daily Ittefaq head of digital), finance secretary Md Maeen Uddin Bakul (Daily Amdaer Somoy head of online), office secretary Md Masud Bin Abdur Razzak (Deepto Television head of online) and executive members Azad Baig (The Daily Star digital growth editor) and Mansura Khatun Chamily (Barta24.com online in-charge) were present.

 

Other members present were Mohammad Ataur Rahman (Daily Jugantor online in-charge), Bipul Hasan (RTV online in-charge and deputy chief news editor), AKM Manjurul Haque (Daily Desh Rupantor online and digital editor), Md Riaz Uddin (Ekushey TV News online editor), Majhar Khandaker (Channel24 online in-charge and joint news editor), Anisur Suman (Ekhon Television web and content in-charge), Hasnat Kadir Islam (Daily Bangladesher Khabar head of digital edition), Md Moniruzzaman (Desh Television manager), SM Amanur Rahman (Pratidiner Bangladesh digital in-charge), Shiabur Rahman Shihab (The Financial Express head of online and digital content), Ataur Rahman (UNB Bangla service in-charge), Mir Attaki Masruruzzaman (Channel i  senior news editor), Sayedul Mahmud (Somoy TV online in-charge and news editor), Mousumi Sultana (Banglanews24.com head of multimedia) and Juboraj Faishal (Daily Naya Diganta head of digital).

The future plans of the organisation were discussed at the event where various suggestions were taken from the members.

OEA leaders expressed their determination to play a more effective role in the future and urged members to make the organisation more dynamic through mutual cooperation.
