The government has transferred 14 senior police officers, including the commissioners of Sylhet and Khulna metropolitan police.
The reshuffle also moved the deputy inspectors general (DIGs) of the Chattogram and Mymensingh ranges, along with other senior officers.
The home ministry reshuffled the four DIGs, five additional DIGs and five superintendent-level police officers in three separate orders on Tuesday.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury has been transferred as DIG of Chattogram Range.
In his place, Police Headquarters DIG Sarwar Murshed Shamim will take over as SMP commissioner.
In a separate order, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Jahidul Hasan has been posted as DIG of Mymensingh Range, while Mymensingh Range DIG Md Ataul Kibria has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Through another order, Additional DIG of the Police Staff College Nasian Wazed has been transferred to Rangpur Range.
Additional DIG Mohammad Ashikur Rahman, who was promoted as supernumerary at the Rajshahi In-Service Training Centre, has been posted to Khulna Range.
Additional DIG Md Apel Mahmud, who was promoted as supernumerary in Tourist Police, has been transferred to Rajshahi Range.
Additional DIG Sharif Uddin Ahmed, who was promoted as supernumerary in the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU), has been transferred to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Also, Additional DIG Md Kafil Uddin, currently serving with Industrial Police, has been transferred to the Police Directorate.
Among officers of superintendent of police (SP) rank, Pabna SP Md Sufi Ullah has been transferred to the CID, while Anti-Terrorism Unit SP Abu Ashraf has been appointed SP of Pabna.
Police Directorate SP AFM Nizam Uddin has been transferred to Rangpur Range, CID SP Mir Abu Touhid to Chattogram Range, and Special Branch (SB) SP Tahsin Masrur Hossain Masfi to Rangpur Range.
