Army rescues 16 flood victims through helicopters

Bangladesh Army rescued six patients in critical condition and rushed them to hospitals by helicopter on Wednesday.

They also transferred 16 people from flood-affected areas to safe places by helicopter, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Bangladesh Army is conducting rescue operations and relief distribution activities by adopting all possible methods to tackle the flood situation, said the release.

They are providing relief through 16 helicopters in the flood-affected areas in Feni Sadar, Phulghazi, Chagalnaya, Parashuram, Madhugram, and Senbagh areas.

Despite inclement weather, 9228 kg of relief, 650 litres of fresh water and water purification tablets were distributed to the flood-affected areas by army helicopters, it reads.

Meanwhile, three field hospitals and 18 medical teams of the Bangladesh Army are currently performing their duties in providing medical services to the flood victims.
