Bangladesh restricts congregation in mosques, other places of worship

No more than five people can congregate in mosques for prayers, the government has said in a notice.

The decision is meant to bridle the escalation of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, bdnews24.com reports.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an emergency notice on Monday restricting the congregation adding that a maximum of 10 devotees can attend the Jummah prayers on Friday in mosques.

The government also restricted visits to other places of worship.
