BCS Taxation Association forms new committee

Bangladesh Civil Service (Taxation) Association has elected Md Lutful Azeem, commissioner of taxation, as the president and Sheikh Shameem Bulbul, additional commissioner of taxation, as the secretary general for 2024-25 terms.

The association elected the new committee at its annual general meeting (AGM) at a city hotel on Friday.

Commissioner of taxes Kabir Uddin Molla, Ikhteiar Uddin Mohammad Mamun and additional commissioner of taxes Mohammad Fazle Ahad Kaiser elected as vice presidents.

Commissioner of taxes Md Zakir Hossain elected as treasurer of the association while joint commissioners Mohammad Masum Billiah and Mohammad Mehedy Hassan as joint secretary general.

Deputy Commissioner of taxes (DCT) Mohammad Ariful Alam elected as office secretary, DCT Kazi Rukaiya Sultana as assistant office secretary, DCT Md Mohidul Islam Chowdhury as research secretary and DCT Md Ekramul Huq as assistant research secretary.

NBR member Md Iqbal Hossain, commissioner of taxes Md Mahmuduzzaman and Md Muhtasibur Rahman Khan, president, secretary general and treasure respectively of the last committee addressed the AGM.

Mutassim Billah Faruqui, Commissioner of Taxes and convener of the AGM and Election-2023 preparatory Committee, delivered the welcome speech.
