Another child with measles symptoms has died in Sylhet, bringing the total number of deaths from confirmed and suspected measles cases in the division to 110.

The child died between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning at MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, according to Mohammad Nure Alam Shamim, assistant director of the Sylhet Division unit of the Directorate General of Health Services.
The deceased, Abdullah Al Adil, aged 1 year and 11 months, was the son of Abdul Hamid of Gowainghat Upazila in Sylhet, reports bdnews24.com.
Meanwhile, in a measles situation report released on Thursday morning, the Sylhet DGHS said that 286 patients with suspected measles cases were receiving treatment at various hospitals across the division as of Thursday morning. In addition, 83 more patients suspected of having measles were admitted to hospitals in the previous 24 hours.
It also reported that, since Jan 1 of this year, laboratory tests have confirmed 634 measles cases in the Sylhet Division.
According to the report, 104 people have died after exhibiting symptoms of measles, while six deaths have been confirmed as resulting from laboratory-confirmed cases of measles.
