At least three people were killed and 18 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two buses at Sebarhat Bazar area under Senbagh upazila of Noakhali district on Thursday morning.
The identity of the victims could not be known immediately.
Locals said the accident occurred around 9:30am when a Chittagong-bound passenger bus from Lakshmipur collided head-on with another passenger bus coming from the opposite direction, leaving a youth dead on the spot and 20 others critically injured.
Confirming the news, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Senbagh Police Station, Harun-ur Rashid said the injured were rushed to local hospitals where two of them succumbed to injuries; according to a media report.
