Dhaka district police have arrested Safi Mudassir Khan Joty, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, in a case filed at Ashulia police station.
Safi Mudassir Khan Joty was arrested in the early hours of Saturday from the Uttara area of Dhaka. He will be produced before a court in Dhaka.
Ahmed Mueed, superintendent of police (SP) of Dhaka, confirmed the information, according to bdnews24.com.
Muyeed said, "Joty has been arrested in connection with a case filed at Ashulia Police Station in Dhaka. We will present him in court today and seek a remand for interrogation."
Joty, the only son among the Asaduzzaman’s two children, is the managing director of the family business, Savar Refractories Limited.
