Mustafizur Rahman made secretary of land ministry

Md Mustafizur Rahman has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Land, according to a statement issued Thursday.

Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on December 24.

Mr Rahman officially took over the responsibility from Senior Secretary Md Muksodur Rahman Patwary on Thursday.

Mr Patwary has retired from the government service after a successful career of almost 33 years. He was given a farewell reception in the conference room of the Land Ministry.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the reception, while newly appointed secretary Mustafizur Rahman, PAA chaired the event.

Honouring the outgoing senior secretary, land minister said Mr Patwary was a highly efficient civil servant who digitised the land ministry and played an important role in the country's development.

The minister hoped that the newly appointed secretary would efficiently implement the developing work of the ministry.

Mr Patwary expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for allowing him to work for his country. He also thanked the land minister and all the members of the land family for their support.

Heads of all departments/agencies of the Ministry of Land, additional secretaries, officials, employees, and project directors attended the reception.
