Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central organising secretary, Amanullah Aman, has alleged that Islami Chhatra Shibir has infiltrated the leftist student organisations of Rajshahi University (RU).

Speaking at a press conference at the university's transport market on Thursday, Aman further claimed that Bangladesh has more Shibir bot accounts than its total population.

"If Shibir has 10 people in any area, and their president makes a post on social media, suddenly 10,000 people comment. Where do these people come from?"

"Bring your people out in the open. Students of Bangladesh are no longer willing to accept underground politics," he added.

Aman also responded to journalists' questions on why JCD has not formed committees in RU's six female dormitories. He alleged that provosts pressured female students to form committees of Islami Chhatri Sangstha, creating an atmosphere of fear that discouraged many from joining JCD.

His remarks triggered an immediate and sharp backlash from several left-wing student groups, who condemned these as "baseless, misleading, and politically motivated."

Later, several left-wing student groups, under the banner of Gonotantrik Chhatra Jote, issued a joint statement condemning Aman's allegations.

The statement said, "The leftist organisations under Gonotantrik Chhatra Jote have always fought against dictatorship, oppression, and fascism. They have never compromised with Jamaat-Shibir or any other fascist forces."

Leaders of the alliance accused Aman of defaming all leftist organisations by making sweeping accusations without evidence. They warned that unless he provides specific proof with names and details, he must retract his comments and make a public apology.

The statement further described Aman's remarks as "defamatory, intentional, and politically misleading", designed to create confusion among students.
