Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) has appointed Zahangir Alam, former mayor of the city corporation, as the chief adviser of the current mayor, Zaida Khatun.
The decision was taken during the first meeting of the city corporation on Monday, according to local news portals.
Zahangir Alam’s mother Zaida Khatun took charge as GCC mayor on September 11, after her win in the city polls on May 25.
