The workshop covered various aspects of artificial intelligence, including the effective use of AI tools, deep research, data analysis, news automation, fact-checking, and ethical considerations. Participants received hands-on training through real-world examples.

Distinguished guests present at the event included BCS President Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Vice President Md. In his speech, TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin said, “The global media industry is rapidly transforming, where AI has opened new horizons in news gathering, editing, and presentation. It’s crucial for Bangladeshi journalists to develop skills in this technology to ensure timely and data-driven journalism. I sincerely thank Gigabyte and BCS for their initiative and support in organizing such a workshop.”

BCS President Mohammad Zahirul Islam said, “The advancement of information technology has brought profound changes to traditional journalism. It is now impossible to keep pace with time without modern AI tools and their proper use. However, we must remain cautious, as misinformation and fake content generated through AI can pose serious challenges. Journalists must be especially vigilant. We should use AI, but we must also ensure that AI does not end up using us. We are pleased to be a part of this initiative and will continue to support similar endeavors.”

Tangim Chowdhury, Product Manager (GIGABYTE) at Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd., said, “GIGABYTE has long been playing a leading role in supplying computer products in Bangladesh’s ICT sector. In line with global AI advancements, GIGABYTE is integrating AI into its products and introducing cutting-edge technology to the market. We are delighted to collaborate with TMGB in organizing this workshop on the use of AI in journalism, and we look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future.”
