BRAC Bank has organised a remittance awareness conference in Bogura, reiterating its commitment to creating public awareness about sending remittances through banking channels, according to a press release.

Held on April 19, 2026 at Mahasthangarh Agent Banking Outlet, the conference brought together members of expatriate families and the local community for an interactive engagement on the importance of using formal channels for foreign remittance.

The session emphasised the benefits of sending remittances through formal banking channels, highlighting the risks associated with informal methods such as hundi. Bank officials underscored that formal channels ensure safety, transparency, and regulatory compliance, while contributing meaningfully to foreign exchange reserves and the country’s economic stability.

Participants were also introduced to the features and benefits of BRAC Bank’s Probashi Paribar accounts, designed specifically for expatriates and their families. These solutions offer convenient access to savings, transactions, and a range of financial services, strengthening the financial resilience of remittance-receiving households.

During the session, BRAC Bank representatives encouraged the prudent use of remittance funds, advising customers to look beyond immediate consumption and consider long-term priorities, such as education, small-business investment, savings, and asset creation. Such informed financial decisions can drive sustainable economic progress at both the household and national levels.

The initiative also highlighted the growing role of agent banking in advancing financial inclusion. With a nationwide network of over 1,120 agent banking outlets, BRAC Bank continues to extend accessible and reliable banking services to underserved and remote communities, encouraging digital adoption and improving financial literacy across the country.
