The country's export earnings in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25 increased by 11.68 per cent to US$28.97 billion, according to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data released on Monday.
Bangladesh fetched US $25.94 billion during the July-January period of the last fiscal year.
The single performance in January 2025 showed a 5.70 per cent year-on-year rise reaching $4.44 billion compared to $4.2 billion in January 2024, EPB data revealed.
Readymade garments (RMG) remained the dominant force behind export earnings, and the sector recorded a 12.00 per cent growth in the July-January period of the current fiscal of 2024-25.
The sector fetched US $23.55 billion from $21.3 billion during the period.
Knitwear exports rose by 12.03 per cent to $12.68 billion, while woven garments saw an 11.97 per cent increase, reaching $10.86 billion in the July-January period of FY25.
In January 2025, RMG exports stood at $3.66 billion, reflecting a 5.57 per cent rise from January 2024.
