The country’s apex trade body, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), will hold the election for its Board of Directors on September 7.
The FBCCI Election Board, in a press release, officially announced the schedule on Wednesday.
This year’s polls will be conducted under the Trade Organisation Act 2022 and the newly-enforced Trade Organisation Rules 2025.
Notably, the size of the FBCCI board has been reduced from 80 to 46 members, in what is being seen as a move to streamline operations and enhance decision-making efficiency.
The election will determine key leadership positions for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 terms, including the President, Senior Vice-President, two Vice-Presidents, and other Board Directors.
