Bangladesh’s electrical and electronics brand Walton has unveiled several new models of premium-category washing machines featuring AI-powered smart wash solutions and advanced technologies aimed at enhancing user convenience and laundry efficiency, according to a press release Wednesday.
The newly launched lineup includes AI-enabled top-loading washing machines — the 8kg capacity WWM-ATT80 and the 9kg capacity WWM-ATT90. According to Walton, the models are equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology capable of detecting the type and weight of clothes and automatically selecting suitable wash settings.
The company also introduced front-loading stain wash models WWM-AFB80 and WWM-AFB90 with 8kg and 9kg capacities respectively, the steam wash-featured 8kg model WWM-AFD80, and the 12kg washer-dryer combo model WWM-AFC12M.
Among the newly introduced models, WWM-AFD80 and WWM-AFC12M are equipped with inverter and direct-drive motors, which Walton said would ensure energy efficiency, low-noise operation and long-lasting performance.
The new models were officially unveiled at an event held at the Walton Corporate Office in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
Walton Home and Kitchen Appliance Chief Business Officer (CBO) Abdullah Al-Zunaid and actress and National Film Award-winning performer Jaya Ahsan, who is also the brand ambassador for Walton Washing Machine and Home Appliance, unveiled the new models.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Zoheb Ahmed and other senior officials also attended the event.
Speaking at the programme, Walton Hi-Tech’s CMO Zoheb Ahmed said, the new models have been introduced considering the growing demand for smart home appliances and evolving modern lifestyles. He expressed optimism that the combination of innovative technologies, enhanced performance and international-standard features would add a new dimension to the country’s washing machine market.
Jaya Ahsan said Walton has continued introducing technologically advanced and comparatively affordable washing machine models for consumers. She said the company’s research and innovation teams are working to incorporate new features into washing machines, which has contributed to the products’ popularity in the domestic market.
She also said Walton-manufactured products, including washing machines, are being exported to more than 55 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and America.
Abdullah Al-Zunaid said the newly launched European-standard washing machines feature inverter and BLDC motors designed to ensure quieter operation and durable performance. He added that selected models include washer-dryer technology that allows users to wash and dry clothes using a single machine.
Walton officials said the company operates a washing machine manufacturing plant at its headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur. According to the company, the facility currently produces more than 30 models of front-load, top-load automatic and semi-automatic washing machines, including commercial washing machines manufactured in line with European energy standards.
The company also said Walton washing machines feature multiple washing motions intended to clean clothes effectively while reducing potential damage. The machines are equipped with touch-screen panels and stainless-steel components aimed at improving durability and user convenience.
