32 die as bus plunges into Rajasthan river

At least 32 people have been killed and 7 others injured after a bus carrying passengers veered off a bridge and plunged into a river in Sawai Madhopur district of the northern Indian state Rajasthan on Saturday morning.

26 bodies have been recovered and 3 people remained missing, said Maman Singh, Superintendent of police, Sawai Madhopur.

All the passengers were going to a pilgrimage at a temple at Malana Dabi area of the district from Hindaun city.

The incident took place early in the morning when driver of the bus lost control over the wheels and the bus fell down into 100 feet Morel river, the Times of India reported citing police.

Rescue operation is underway to find any survivors, said sources.
