The Islamic University (IU) has announced plans to incorporate the history of the July Revolution into its academic curriculum. The decision was communicated through an official order issued Tuesday by the university's acting registrar, HM Ali Hasan.

The university described the revolution as a monumental event in Bangladesh’s history, marking a significant struggle and awakening period for the nation. According to the office order, the movement, which spanned July and August of 2024, was not merely about meeting demands but about establishing the fundamental rights of the people.

"This revolution is a glorious chapter, an epic picture of the nation’s awakening and struggle," the order stated.

The decision to introduce the July Revolution into the curriculum follows demands from the Islamic University Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Their call for spreading the spirit of the revolution gained support from the Ministry of Education, prompting university authorities to urge all departments to include it in their academic syllabi.
