The IUT Alumni Association and IUT Career and Business Society (IUTCBS) have organised a successful Career Expo on April 7th, 2023, at the IUT premises. The event was a massive success with more than 500 participants, including recent graduates, current students, faculty members and esteemed guests, and featured 20 of the biggest companies in Bangladesh.

In his opening speech, Md Shamsuddoha Russel, the President of the IUT Alumni Association, said, "As alumni of IUT, we understand the importance of career development and networking. Career Expo 2023 is an excellent platform for students and young graduates to learn about various industries and explore potential job opportunities. I am proud of the team for organising this event, and I hope this tradition continues in the future."
Dr Rafiqul Islam, the honourable VC of IUT, also spoke at the event and said, "I am pleased to see the enthusiasm of the attendees and the participation of top companies in this year's Career Expo. Our mission at IUT is to provide quality education and ensure that our students and alumni succeed in their careers. I am happy to support IUTAA and IUTCBS in organising this event and creating a platform for students to connect with top recruiters from various industries."
The special guests - Mr Saad Jashim, Area Head of Talent, Culture and Inclusion, BAT Bangladesh, Mr Syed Tanvir Husain, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone Ltd. and Mr Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah, President of Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers & Exporters Association and Managing Director, China Bangla Ceramic Ind. Ltd., also expressed their content on the arrangement of the expo. They also emphasised the importance of such a Career Expo for students and motivated IUTCBS and IUTAA to continue arranging the event even in the future.
Some notable companies in attendance included Bkash, Banglalink, Nestle, SMEC, Pathao Ltd., Avery Dennison, and Chevron, among others. Representatives from each company interacted with attendees and provided valuable insights into their hiring processes and opportunities for growth and development within their respective organisations.
In addition to the company booths, the event also featured seminars and panel discussions, which were a significant highlight of the event. The panel discussion featured top executives from several of the participating companies, including Abu Al Motalib Raju, Director of
TriTech, Mohammad Rubbyat Akram, Vice President of Robi Axiata Limited, Sifuddin Ansary Razu, Head of Network Biz from Samsung, Hasnain Ishtiaq, Head of Manufacturing of BAT Bangladesh, Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, Chief of Staff from ShopUp and Mir Shahrukh Islam, Managing Director, Bondstein and CEO of Singularity Limited.
The panel discussed current industry trends and provided attendees with valuable advice on navigating the job market successfully.

The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where the organisers thanked all the attendees, participants, and guests for contributing to the event's success.
