Nobel laureate Dr Anne L'Huillier, Professor of Atomic Physics at Lund University, Sweden, delivered a lecture on attosecond physics at a webinar organised by the Faculty of Engineering of American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB).

The lecture, titled "The World of Atoms at the Attosecond Time Scale", was held on June 3 as part of the Dr Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series, according to a press release.

During the session, Dr L'Huillier introduced the emerging field of attosecond physics and explained how ultrafast light pulses can be used to observe and study electron motion within atoms and molecules.

More than 200 faculty members, researchers, students and science enthusiasts participated in the webinar.

Prof Dr ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at AIUB, delivered the welcome address.

The programme concluded with remarks from AIUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saiful Islam, who thanked the Nobel laureate for sharing her insights and expertise.

The lecture provided participants with an opportunity to learn about recent developments in atomic physics and advances in the study of ultrafast phenomena at the atomic scale.
