The University of Dhaka (DU) has announced restrictions on the entry of outsiders and vehicle movement on campus from Sunday evening until Monday morning in connection with the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, aiming to ensure the safety and security of the university community.

The announcement was made in a press release issued by the university on Saturday.

According to the notice, from 6:30 pm on Sunday to 6:00 am on Monday, entry to the DU campus will be restricted for all visitors except university teachers, students, officers and employees. Vehicle movement will also be regulated during this period.

The university said that only vehicles bearing official DU stickers and emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, vehicles carrying doctors and patients, journalists, ride-sharing services, food delivery vehicles, online shopping delivery vehicles and other government vehicles, will be allowed to enter the campus through its main entry points at Shahbagh, Doel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road and Nilkhet.

All other vehicles will be barred from entering the campus during the restriction period.

The authorities also said that the road from Palashi through Doel Chattar to the High Court intersection will remain open for traffic.

However, the entry of public transport and heavy vehicles into the campus will continue to remain restricted at all times.
