An anti-oppression teachers' rally and a march programme were held at Dhaka University on Thursday with the participation of teachers and students of various universities.
From the rally, the teachers announced a fresh programme for Friday. According to the programme itinerary they will march from Press Club to Central Shaheed Minar.
The teachers also invited people from various professions including university teachers, engineers, and doctors to join them in the march.
The teachers said in the rally, " The government will not prosecute the murders. Because, they themselves are murderers.''
" the six coordinators have been detained in the DB office illegally violating human rights", the speakers added.
The teachers made several demands at the rally.
They are:
- the trial of the murder and the unconditional release of others including the detained students.
- lifting of curfew
- stoppage of arrests in the name of block raids
- reopening of all educational institutions
