Dhaka is renowned for its many cuisine options, some catering to vegetarians. Bangladesh does not have an extensive vegetarian population. However, there are good vegetarian restaurants in Dhaka. Whether you are a committed vegetarian or just searching for a satisfying and healthy meal, several excellent vegetarian restaurants in Dhaka can change your taste buds. 

Jogonnath Bhojonaloy

Jogonnath Bhojonaloy is one of the most popular and oldest vegetarian restaurants in Tantibazar, Old Dhaka. This pure vegetarian restaurant has been serving vegetarian food for 23 years.

It is a simple 'Bhater Hotel' with no extra decorations but serves delicious meals at a very reasonable price. The price ranges from 20 to 50 taka only.

The menu is not fixed; they change their menu daily per the market availability and bring variations to the menu. They display the food item as one person serving in a small bowl.

The customer glances at the items and selects their food. They serve various kinds of bhaji, bhorta, shak, bora and curry. Some worthy items mentioned are Luchi-alurdom, Chhanar rosha, Soyabean rosha, Potolshorisha, and many more.

Anuradha Mohaprashad Bhojonaloy

This vegetarian hotel is located at Shankhari Bazar, Old Dhaka. This is also a famous vegetarian place in old Dhaka. This restaurant's most popular and unique item is veg pulao, which costs 80 taka.

This pulao is made with soya, potato, carrot and some spices. One serving of this pulao itself is fulfilling. Some other vegetarian items include Kumrarbeguni, Phholkopir rosha, Bhendi, Shojna data, Chanartorkari, Soyabeantorkari, etc. One proper meal in this place will cost you 100-120 taka.

Aadi Gobindo Bhojonaloy 

Another well-known restaurant at Shakhari Bazar is Aadi Gobindo Bhojonaloy. They also provide good quality vegetarian food at a low price. The price ranges from 20-80 taka.

A proper meal will cost 70-100 taka per person. Along with everyday vegetarian items prepared with vegetables and Shak, they have specialities such as Kashmiri paneer, Chanardhoka, Soyabean shobji, Daaler bora rosha and many more delicious items.

Gopal's- Pure vegetarian restaurant

While the majority of the vegetarian restaurants are situated in Old Dhaka, there are some renowned restaurants located in New Dhaka. Gopal's is one of them.

It is located in East Merul Badda near Nimtola Kali temple. The price range is between 10 to 150 taka. This restaurant is comparatively neat and hygienic.

They serve delicious vegetarian dishes like Dhoka biriyani, Dal er dhoka rosha, Kachkolar kopta, Chana rosha, Paneerrosha, mixed vegetables, etc. As an add-on to your meal, their crispy shredded potato and peanut fry can bring a crunch to each bite. However, their menu changes daily and is posted on their Facebook page.

Govinda's Kitchen

Govinda's Kitchen is located at Green Road. This is a new vegetarian restaurant, but it is gaining popularity because of its good quality food and cleanliness.

This restaurant's most demanding and delicious dishes are vegetable fried rice and paneer chilli. Paneer chilli is prepared with tomato and capsicum.

Vegetable fried rice paired with paneer chilli is a heavenly combination. In this restaurant, a meal will cost you 150-200 taka.

Vrinda's Kitchen

They have three branches inside Dhaka (Baridhara, Farmgate, Green Road) and another in Narayanganj. They provide well-organized seating arrangements, and the restaurants are air-conditioned. This restaurant also changes its menu almost daily and posts it on its Facebook Page. Their cooking style is similar to non-veg dishes, making their vegetarian dishes tastier.

For the lunch and dinner menu, the price ranges from 30-240 taka. Some popular dishes are Paneer motka biriyani, Kashmiri mixed biriyani, Paneer capsicum rosha, Paneer masala, Paneer stuffed potoldorma, Kashmiri rezala and many bhorta-bhaji. They also serve vegetarian pizza ranging from 300-1200 taka and eggless pastry cakes.

Jatra Biroti

If you want pure vegetarian food at a posh, aesthetic and Instagram-friendly place, JatraBiroti can be a good option.

They serve vegetarian food, and their food items are prepared with fresh organic vegetables from their garden. This restaurant is at Banani and serves various meals, snacks, pitha, and beverages.

Mushroom wrap, mushroom haleem, paneer samosa, and pulipitha stuffed with cheese and spinach are worth trying. For meals, they have luchi-alurdom, mushroom teheri, khichuri platter, chitaruti platter, etc. Since it is an expensive place, the price ranges from 220 to 500 taka.
