One more child died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until 8:0 am on Friday, according to the health authorities.

With the latest count, the total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms reached 780 since mid-March of this year.

Of the total fatalities, 95 were confirmed as measles cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin.

Meanwhile, as many as 873 suspected and 140 confirmed measles infections were reported in the past 24 hours.

The total suspected measles infections rose to 116,011 and confirmed infections reached 14,244, said the DGHS bulletin.

In response to a severe measles outbreak across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already vaccinated over 18.48 million children since April.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease, which affects individuals of all ages and remains one of the leading causes of death among young children globally.

Meanwhile, the health authorities reported zero death from dengue in the past 24 hours while 94 more patients were hospitalised with dengue symptoms during the time.

However, the total number of dengue-related deaths rose to 32 and the caseloads reached 9,770 since January this year.
