Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices a day after a cut. The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at a meeting on Friday revised the prices.
The revised prices were announced in a notice signed by the committee's chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen. The new rates took effect at 10:00 am on Friday.
As per BAJUS's decision, gold prices have increased in the domestic market, with the price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold raised by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams).
As a result, the new price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at Tk 224,182 per bhori. The BAJUS said the increase followed a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
