Mustafa Qudrat-E-Elahi joined the state-owned Jamuna Oil Company Limited (JOCL) as the new managing director on Thursday.
Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), appointed Mr Elahi as the new top brass of the JOCL after removing its previous managing director Md Gias Uddin Ansary who was serving the entity since September 2018.
Prior to his appointment as the JOCL managing director, Mr Elahi was working as the senior general manager of Commercial and Operation at the BPC.
The decision on the appointment was made at a meeting of BPC's superior selection committee on Wednesday.
The JOCL has been involved with the marketing of petroleum products over the past five decades.
