Prime Bank PLC has successfully held another session of its flagship ‘Empowering Youth–Season 2.0’ initiative at United International University (UIU), bringing together industry leaders and aspiring graduates to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world.

Rup Ratan Pine, Executive Director (Grade-I) of Bangladesh Bank, attended the session as Chief Guest, according to a press release.

Addressing the students, he underscored the importance of academic results as well as extracurricular involvement in securing strong career opportunities in both government and private sectors, including prospects at Bangladesh Bank.

He also encouraged students to take advantage of Bangladesh Bank’s Student Banking facility to build sound financial literacy and savings habits early on, laying the groundwork for long-term financial stability and independence.

M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Additional Managing Director and Head of Consumer & SME Banking Division at Prime Bank PLC, delivered the keynote speech on employability and the essential skill sets needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

Drawing from his own career journey, he shared candid reflections on the challenges he faced and the critical decisions that shaped his path — offering students a rare, real-world perspective on how resilience and sound judgment can turn obstacles into stepping stones toward leadership.

M M Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking at Prime Bank, spoke about the bank’s 31-year journey of credible milestones, including its distinctive academic initiative, PrimeAcademia.

He also emphasized the importance of financial inclusion and sound money management for students as they prepare to enter the workforce.

The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor of United International University, while Prof. Dr. Salma Karim, Director of the BBA Program at UIU, delivered the welcome address.

Speaking to the students, the panel highlighted the growing importance of innovation, financial literacy, digital transformation, and continuous learning in shaping the future of Bangladesh’s banking industry.

They also urged participants to build strong professional competencies and embrace ethical leadership as they chart their career paths.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with industry experts on career development and the banking profession. A Live Mock Interview Session was also organized, offering participants hands-on interview experience, constructive feedback, and valuable insight into corporate recruitment practices.
