EMGS “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh 2026 drew huge attention from students planning to pursue higher studies in Malaysia.

The two-day expo was held on May 8-9 at Hotel Sarina in Banani, Dhaka, according to a press release.

High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh Mohd Shuhada Othman inaugurated the expo. Head of the Malaysian delegation Moeen Uddin Ahmed Khan, Head of South Asia at EMGS, members of the Malaysian delegation, and senior officials of the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka were present on the occasion.

Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), a company under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, organised the expo with the aim of connecting Bangladeshi students with 12 leading Malaysian universities.

The “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh 2026 is a multi-city initiative designed to provide authentic, first-hand information on Malaysian higher education to Bangladeshi students, parents, and professionals.

The expo featured 12 prominent Malaysian universities, including four public universities, offering a comprehensive range of academic pathways from foundation, diploma and bachelor’s programmes to master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral studies.

After the Dhaka event, the expo will be held at The Grand Riverview Hotel in Rajshahi on May 13 and at The Peninsula Chittagong on May 15, 2026.

For Bangladeshi professionals considering master’s, PhD and post-doctoral studies, the expo offers a unique platform to explore Malaysia’s rapidly growing research ecosystem.

Malaysian universities provide research-based postgraduate programmes, access to internationally supervised research, and opportunities to engage in high-impact publications and industry-linked projects.

Malaysia also offers a family-friendly study environment, where eligible postgraduate students may apply to bring dependents, allowing professionals to pursue higher education without compromising family responsibilities.

Combined with affordable living costs, flexible study modes and strong industry connections, Malaysia presents a practical and strategic destination for career advancement.

As part of the official visit, the Malaysian delegation is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Education Minister of Bangladesh on May 11, 2026, and participate in the Bangladesh-Malaysia Higher Education Networking Session, organised in collaboration with the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, on May 18, 2026.

The delegation will also attend a high-level networking session hosted by the Government of Malaysia at Six Seasons Hotel, bringing together vice-chancellors and senior leaders from public and private universities of both countries.

The networking session will be attended by the CEO of EMGS, the High Commissioner of Malaysia, senior officials from the UGC and the ministry, and distinguished members of the media.

Visitors are expected to benefit from direct engagement with university representatives, verified information on admissions, scholarships and tuition fees, guidance on student visa processing, compliance and welfare services managed by EMGS, and insights into career pathways and global opportunities.
