IUB holds orientation programme for Spring 2020 semester

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has warmly welcomed the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Spring 2020 semester through an orientation ceremony held at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.

Students got enrolled in five different schools namely, School of Business; School of Engineering & Computer Science; School of Environmental Science & Management; School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and; School of Life Sciences.

Dr Rubana Huq, President, BGMEA was the Chief Guest of the programme held on Saturday last, according to a press statement.

In her speech, she emphasised on the higher education and empowerment of women.

Welcoming the newly enrolled students and the parents, Prof Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB, heartily thanked the parents and students for choosing IUB towards crafting their lives by coping with new opportunities.

Khandker Md Iftekhar Haider, Treasurer; Md Anwarul Islam, Registrar; Dr Mohd Aminul Karim, Dean, School of Business; Dr Mohammed Anwer, Dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science; Dr Abdul Khaleque, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management; Prof Imtiaz A Hussain, Dean (Acting), School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; Prof Shah M Faruque, Dean (In-charge), School of Life Sciences of IUB were also present on the occasion.

The event was organised by the Admissions & Financial Aid Office at IUB and was conducted by its Deputy Director Lima Choudhury.

Six students who topped in the admission tests were awarded. They will also receive scholarships while studying at IUB.

Apart from the students, parents and guardians, members of the faculty and management of IUB were present in the orientation programme.
