MoU signed between Jahangirnagar University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jahangirnagar University today for partnership in education and research, cooperation between teachers and students of the institutions, collaborating in research publications and seminars etc.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on Monday (May 8) at 12 pm in the conference room of the Vice-Chancellor's Office of the University's New Registrar's Building.
On behalf of Jahangirnagar University, Treasurer- Professor Dr Rasheda Akhtar and Head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Professor Eric Wing Hong CHUI signed the memorandum.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md. Nurul Alam said, "Since assuming responsibility, I have been working to move Jahangirnagar University forward in the world ranking. In accordance with that, this MoU was signed today. He expressed hope that the education and research programs of the university will be enriched through this."
Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Sheikh Md. Monzurul Huq, Acting Dean of Social Sciences Faculty Professor Bashir Ahmed, Contractual Registrar Rahima Kaneez, Chairman of Government and Politics Department Tarana Begum, Professor of Government and Politics, Dr Md. Shamsul Alam, Professor Samsunnahar Khanam, Associate Professor Dr Mohammad Tarikul Islam, Md. Ikhtiyar Uddin Bhuiyan, Dr Md. Farid Hossain, Kamrul Hasan, Research Assistant of the Department of Applied Social Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr Herbary Cheung, and others were present.
Under this agreement, the teachers and students of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with the Department of Government and Politics of Jahangirnagar University can participate and collaborate in education, research-publication, seminars, etc.
As part of this memorandum, an international seminar has been organised on Wednesday (May 10) at the Department of Government and Politics of JU. Professor Eric Chui will give his speech on 'Why do people commit crime?' Dr Herbary Cheung and MD Farid Hossain will address their thoughts on 'Surviving and thriving in academia from HKPFS awardee to early career researcher.'
Professor Bashir Ahmed and Tarana Begum will give a welcome speech there, and Associate Professor Tarikul Islam will be present as the seminar moderator.
