Islami Bank extends support for higher education of Palestinian students

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Dhaka and the Embassy of Palestine, aiming to provide educational stipends to Palestinian female students, according to a press release.
Under this agreement, Islami Bank will provide full financial sponsorship for the accommodation, living and other incidental expenses of 12 Palestinian female students for the next 5 (five) academic years. In the presence of Professor Dr A.B.M. Obaidul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka; Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, Ambassador of Palestine in Bangladesh, Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director of Islami Bank and Professor M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, PhD, Treasurer of the University of Dhaka signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions on May 17, 2026, Sunday.
Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic); Professor Dr. Mohammed Almujaddade Alfasane, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration); Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, Acting Registrar; Professor Dr. Syeda Rozana Rashid, Director, Office of the International Affairs & Local Host, Deans of various faculties, University of Dhaka; Ziad Hamad, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Palestine and Md. Maznuzzaman, Executive Vice President of the Bank, among others, were present on the occasion.
