Siam City Cement Public Company Limited from Thailand recently launched its innovative product, INSEE ECO Plus+ cement, at a grand event in Cox's Bazar. This cement is designed specifically for durable construction in coastal regions, offering a sustainable solution to the challenges posed by salinity and chemical attacks.

This is the first cement of its kind in Bangladesh, providing a sustainable solution for the construction of buildings, cyclone shelters, bridges, dams, tunnels, and retaining walls, according to a press release Tuesday.

The launch event featured a technical session where experts from Siam City Cement PLC, Thailand, and INSEE Cement Bangladesh presented the unique features and benefits of INSEE ECO Plus+. Speakers discussed the deteriorating condition of coastal structures due to the effects of climate change and the need for sustainable solutions.

Professor Dr Shameem Ahmed from BUET, along with representatives from CUET, RHD, BWDB, LGED, and the private sector, participated in the event to discuss the challenges faced by Bangladesh and the potential of INSEE ECO Plus+ to address them.

INSEE ECO Plus+, made from Thailand's own clinker, is expected to revolutionise coastal construction in Bangladesh. As the only cement in Bangladesh with an internationally recognised Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificate, INSEE demonstrates its commitment to sustainability.

The INSEE Group is the only group worldwide to have achieved EPD certification for all its cements across various countries.
