India's forex reserves rise to $690.617 billion

India's foreign exchange reserves increased by 4.553 billion US dollars to $690.617 billion during the week ended May 9, showed the latest weekly data released by country's central bank the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

During the said week, while the foreign currency assets rose by $196 million to $581.373 billion, the Gold Reserves increased by $4.518 billion to $86.337 billion, reports Xinhua.

The RBI's data also revealed that India's special drawing rights decreased by $26 million to $18.532 billion, and the country's reserves position at the International Monetary Fund decreased by $134 million to $4.374 billion.
