Bangladesh Bank allows continuing outward remittance for online study abroad

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has allowed continuing the effect of outward remittances on account of study abroad under online teaching arrangements for another two semesters or sessions subject to observance of usual regulatory instructions, reports BSS.

"It is observed that Bangladeshi students are still studying under online teaching arrangements from Bangladesh due to travel restrictions imposed by some foreign governments for ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the current situation, it has been decided that Authorised Dealers (Ads) may continue to effect outward remittances on account of study abroad under online teaching arrangements for another two semesters or sessions subject to observance of usual regulatory instructions," said a BB circular issued on Wednesday.

The facility will be effective till March 31, 2022, the circular added.
