Classes and examinations at Dhaka University are likely to resume on September 22.
Deans of faculties, chairmen of departments and provosts of hall discussed the date during a meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan in the chair.
“A proposal was made to resume classes and exams of the university between September 22 and 25. However, the proposal has not been finalised yet. An emergency Academic Council meeting will be held to discuss the matter further and then the decision will be finalised in a syndicate meeting,” said Arts Faculty Dean Prof Siddiqur Rahman Khan.
Earlier, on July 17, Dhaka University was closed indefinitely due to clashes over the quota reform movement to ensure the safety and maintain the academic environment of the students.
