The four-day 'Finance Fest-2023' has commenced at Jahangirnagar University (JU), organised by the Department of Finance and Banking. The festival was inaugurated on Wednesday, September 20, at 10 am on the Faculty of Business Studies premises and will continue until September 23.

Professor Sheikh Monzurul Huq, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University, extended his best wishes for success to all participants and marked the beginning of Finance Fest with a cake-cutting ceremony.

He remarked that events like Finance Fest are pivotal in fostering connections between teachers and students beyond the classroom setting.

In the inauguration ceremony, Professor Nilanjan Kumar Saha, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, stated, "Programs like these serve as a means for students to develop and educate themselves. I believe Finance Fest will serve as a valuable source of skill development for students beyond their academic studies."

Md Yousuf Harun, Associate Professor and the Chairman of the Department of Finance and Banking, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to extend my thanks to the organising batch for arranging the largest program of the department. Such initiatives are always highly appreciated and consistently supported by the department."

He concluded his speech by urging everyone to end the program gracefully and in an orderly manner.

Associate Professor Debashis Saha, from the Finance and Banking Department, was the moderator for the inauguration ceremony. This finance fest, organised for the second time, has featured many magnificent events. On the inaugural day of the festival (September 20), various activities were conducted, including a tree plantation program, a rally, a flash mob, competitions in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentations, and a Chess and Quiz competition.

The second day, September 21, will feature a panel discussion, a job fair, and a photo exhibition.

On the third day of the fest (September 22), separate football, cricket, and basketball competitions have been organised for both boys and girls.

On the closing day (September 23), a career session involving alums is planned, along with a prize-giving ceremony will be held for the various competitions. The four-day finance festival will culminate with a concert that day.
