Classes and academic programs for the freshers' batch of the 2021-22 academic year of Jahangirnagar University will commence on the first instance of January.
On Tuesday (November 15), this information was given in a circular signed by Abu Hasan, Deputy Registrar (Education) of the University.
This decision was taken at a meeting of hall provosts chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Nurul Alam on Monday (November 14). It was taken into account given the recommendation to start classes after allotting seats to new students in the newly constructed two halls.
The meeting recommended the commencement of first-year classes on January 1, 2023. Besides, to deal with the accommodation crisis, it was decided to transfer 100 people from different years to new halls.
The list of students selected for transfer has been asked to be submitted to the education wing of the registrar's office by November 22.
The admission test for the students of the 2021-2022 academic year at Jahangirnagar University was held from July 31 to August 4 this year.
