IUB signs MoU with Brock University, Canada

Brock University, Canada and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony organised at the university campus recently.

Mr Benoit Préfontaine, High Commissioner of Canada in Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, according to a media release.

The objectives of the MoU between IUB and Brock University are strengthening the academic collaboration between the two institutions by developing academic and cultural interchange in areas related to education, conducting faculty and student exchange programme by exchanging scholarly materials and information, participating in joint or collaborative research projects and grants and establishing 2+2 programme.

The programme is primarily articulated for the B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering of both the institutions.

In the near future,  Brock University has the intention to expand this programme with the other departments of IUB as well, the release added.

Dr Syed Ejaz Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Math & Science, Brock University and Prof Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB singed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Ms Corinne Petrisor, Counsellor (Commercial) & Senior Trade Commissioner, High Commission of Canada; Ms Leigh- Ellen Keating, Director, International Services, Brock University; Mr Nigel Dixon, Special Projects Coordinator, International Services, Brock University; Ms Megha Srivastav, Relationship Manager, International Market Development, Brock University;  IUB Trustee Mr S M Al-Husainy; Trustee Mr A Quaiyum Khan; Deans of different Schools, Treasurer, Registrar, Controller of Examination, invited Unit Heads and faculties from CSE at IUB were present at the signing ceremony.

The event was conducted by Ms Asifa Islam, Senior Officer, International Program and Relation, IUB.
