Break The Circle is the annual flagship international photography exhibition being hosted by the Islamic University of Technology Photography Society (IUTPS) every year. This signature event promotes photography as a unique platform to express the inner creativity of the youth and give space to express their imaginative thinking.

Break The Circle will celebrate its 10 years of glory this year. Like its past nine years of success, it will be a grand event that will showcase the uniqueness and creativity of university students from all around Bangladesh and other foreign  countries. It will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy this year from April 08 to 10. The call for entry for photos has been already published. World-renowned photographers like Abir Abdullah, Mishuk Ashraful Awal, Pronob Ghosh are on the judging panel of the competition and mastermind Jewel Paul will handle the curation section.

The programme is designed to promote photography as a popular art form in our country. Since its establishment, IUTPS has been trying to create a special opportunity for both mentors and future photographers to interact with each other, allowing everyone to connect to the huge pool of international students from 57 different OIC nations studying at IUT. For the exhibition, university students across the globe can submit photos. Last year, the number of photos submitted was 5,923. The event reached more than 0.1 million individuals through Facebook engagement.

IUTPS was formed in 2010 with an aim to create an open platform for the IUTians to express their creativity through photography. Within a decade, it has become one of the most prominent photographic societies in Bangladesh.

IUTPS started its flagship exhibition Break the Circle-- an international inter-university photography exhibition-- back in 2011. The first one was a tremendous success as it broke all the traditional records regarding photography competition. Following the success, IUTPS arranged Break the Circle Season II in 2012 which was also a huge success again. From the third season onwards, IUTPS decided to extend its platform for freelancers as well to show their work. Since then, It was no looking back for the event as each of the seasons kept surpassing expectations..

President of IUTPS Sagupth Alam Zarif expressed  satisfaction about the way the event has been carried out and hopes to continue growing bigger and more popular. "I look forward to reprising Break The Circle for the tenth time with my team, making it a grandiose experience for photography enthusiasts and practitioners," he said.
