The construction work of independent IBA-JU Building inaugurated

Promising enhanced academic facilities, the construction work for the independent building of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) was inaugurated at Jahangirnagar University (JU). The inauguration took place on Tuesday, May 23, and was officiated by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md. Nurul Alam.

During the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor remarked the construction of this building is being funded solely by the institute, which is why this opening ceremony is being held. He expressed optimism that the work would be completed expeditiously, leading to the acceleration of academic activities.

Professor Dr KM Zahidul Islam, the Director of IBA-JU, shared, "The dream of having our own building of IBA had been cherished for 32 years. The construction of the academic building is being financed through savings from the weekend program."

"IBA-JU will be the first in the history of Jahangirnagar University to construct a building using its own funds. The initial phase of the building will consist of two stories, with plans to expand it into a four-storied L-shaped structure eventually," he remarked. 

The opening ceremony was attended by notable individuals, including the Treasurer, Professor Dr Rasheda Akhtar, contractual Registrar RahimaKaneez, Professor Dr Sharrif Enamul Kabir, former Vice-Chancellor and current syndicate member, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Bashir Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Associate Professor Tapos Kumar Das, Professor Sayedur Rahman from the Public Administration Department; Associate Professor HosneAra from the Department of History, along with teachers and students from the IBA and other Departments. 

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA-JU) commenced as a department in 1991 and later achieved the status of an institute in 2009. IBA-JU is widely recognized as one of the leading business schools in the country due to its innovative curriculum.
