Gusty winds, rain forecast in eight regions
Cautionary signal at river ports

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty or stormy winds, accompanied by rain or thundershowers in eight regions of the country.
The river ports in these areas have also been instructed to raise cautionary signal No. 1, bdnews24.com reports.
Meteorologist Abdul Hamid said on Tuesday morning, "By 6pm [on Tuesday], rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds with speeds of 45-60kmh from the west or northwest may occur over the Dhaka, Faridpur, Barishal, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions.
According to Monday's weather forecast, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning may occur in some places in the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and one or two places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions on Tuesday. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may also occur in some places of the country.
The Met Office said the highest temperature recorded in the country on Monday was 38 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.
