Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced plans to operate special flights today (Thursday) to bring back the Bangladesh national football team and other passengers, stranded in Kathmandu due to the ongoing political unrest in Nepal.
A wide-body aircraft is scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday, subject to clearance from Tribhuvan International Airport authorities.
The delayed flights of Biman BG-371 and BG-372 on September 9, and BG-373 and BG-374 on September 10, may be operated on the same day using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Biman and Himalayan Airlines, a Nepalese airline, canceled their scheduled flights on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route on Tuesday and Wednesday amid political unrest.
