The Georgia State Senate in the United States has passed a resolution commending the interim government of Bangladesh for its commitment to upholding the rule of law.
The resolution was adopted on Apr 4, marking 53 years of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and the United States.
In the resolution, lawmakers expressed hope for the continued success of the interim government and emphasised the close ties between the people of Bangladesh and the US, reports bdnews24.com.
It also noted that Bangladesh and the US have been working closely on a wide range of issues, including trade, economic development, security, good governance, and global cooperation, and expressed optimism that the partnership would continue to grow.
The resolution was introduced by Bangladeshi-American Democratic senators Sheikh Rahman and Nabilah Islam, along with Ed Harbison, Randal Mangham, and Donzella James.
