Load-shedding recorded at 97 MW on Jul 12

Load-shedding across the country stood at around 97 MW on Saturday, as 15,413 MW of electricity was generated against the peak demand for 15,510 MW, according to official data of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).

Rangpur zone experienced the highest load-shedding of 67 MW as electricity supply was around 1,044 MW against the demand for 1,111 MW. Mymensingh zone witnessed 20 MW of load shedding where electricity supply was around 1,328 MW against the demand for 1,348 MW.

Dhaka and Barisal each experienced the lowest load-shedding of 5 MW, where electricity supply was 5,487 MW and 498 MW respectively against the demand for 5,492 MW and 503 MW. On the other hand, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Cumilla, and Sylhet did not experience any load-shedding, according to the official data,

On Saturday, state-run Petrobangla supplied around 998 mmcfd of gas to power plants against the overall demand for 2,420 mmcfd, according to the official data of Petrobangla. Previously, Petrobangla had allocated as high as 1,200 mmcfd of gas for power generation.
