Some of the recruitment tests for the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have been postponed for a week as they originally fell during Durga Puja holidays, when educational institutions are closed.

The tax collection agency rescheduled its written tests for the vacant posts of grade 11 to 16 high level assistant, typist-cum-computer operator and office assistant-cum-computer typist to Oct 11 instead of Oct 3.

NBR First Secretary (Board Administration) and Secretary of the Divisional Election/Recruitment Committee Md Zahid Newaz provided the information in a statement on Sunday.

The recruitment tests were scheduled to be held at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government Girls' High School in the capital. Now they will be held at the same venue but on Oct 11. The new timing is from 3pm-4:30pm.

Several other NBR written exams have also been scheduled for the same day.

The board's written examination for the posts of computer operator and data entry/control operator for grades 14 to 16 will also be held at the same time. The preliminary examination was held on Friday. The results were announced on the same day and the written examination date was set for Oct 11.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education gave directives not to schedule any exam in high schools, colleges and universities from Sept 28 to Oct 9 during the Durga Puja festival.

The 12-day holiday also include Fateha-i-Yajdaham, Probarona Purnima and Lakshmi Puja. Hence, all education institutions will remain shut over this period.
