More than 1.04 million students have been selected for admission to Class XI across different colleges and madrasas in the first phase of intake.
However, nearly 28,000 applicants -- including more than 5,700 students who achieved a GPA-5 -- were not selected. These students still have the opportunity to secure admission in the second and third phases.
The results of the first phase were published on Wednesday evening.
Students can check their college placement online at www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd, though heavy server traffic is currently limiting access.
Md Riazul Haque, college inspector of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dhaka said over 1.073 million students applied in the first phase, with nearly 28,000 not selected.
“Among the unplaced students, more than 5,700 had achieved GPA-5, but were not selected for admission,” he said.
When asked why high-performing students were not selected, he explained that many applied only to top colleges, where other students with even stronger results were admitted.
“We hope they will find placement in the second or third phases,” he added.
Selected students must confirm their admission by 8pm on Aug 22; failure to do so will cancel their first-phase selection and require reapplication with fees.
The second phase of applications runs from Aug 23–25, and the third phase from Aug 31 to Sept 1.
Results and migration rounds are scheduled between Aug 28 and Sept 5, with the overall admission process concluding by Sept 14. Classes will begin on Sept 15.
