Robi Axiata posted an impressive 134 per cent year-on-year growth in profit to Tk 2.57 billion in the second quarter to June this year, primarily driven by operational efficiency and favourable forex market.
Accordingly, consolidated earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 0.73 in the April-June this year, whipping up from Tk 0.21 in the same quarter a year ago, according to price-sensitive information published on Monday.
The telecom operator’s revenue, however, dropped 2 per cent year-on-year to Tk 25.55 billion in the quarter to June this year.
Its half-yearly profit also jumped 78 per cent year-on-year to Tk 3.83 billion in the January-June period this year, although revenue dropped 4.4 per cent to Tk 48.96 billion during the time.
Its stock rose 2.61 per cent to Tk 27.5 on Monday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
