Application open for Generation Google Scholarship

The Generation Google Scholarship: for Women in Computer Science aims to support and empower students pursuing computer science degrees, fostering their growth as leaders in the tech industry. Each selected student will receive USD 2,500 for the 2024-2025 academic year. Candidates will be evaluated based on their dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as their demonstrated leadership and academic excellence.

This scholarship is open to all students who meet the minimum qualifications, with a strong encouragement for those who identify as women and are interested in computer science to apply. However, individuals who have previously received scholarships such as the Generation Google Scholarship, Generation Google Scholarship: for Women in Gaming, Generation Google Scholarship: for Women in Computer Science in Ireland, Generation Google Scholarship: for Supply Chain and Fulfilment, Google Lime Scholarship, Google Student Veterans of America Scholarship, Women Techmakers Scholarship for Computer Science, Women Techmakers Scholarship for Gaming, Google Europe Students with Disabilities Scholarship, or Venkat Panchapakesan Scholarships India are ineligible for reapplication.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Generation Google Scholarship (APAC) 2024, applicants must:

• Currently enrolled as full-time second or third-year undergraduate students at accredited universities in the Asia Pacific region for the 2023-2024 academic year.
• Have the intention to continue pursuing a full-time Bachelor's program at accredited universities in the Asia Pacific region for the 2024-2025 academic year.
• Be studying in the field of computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Demonstrate a strong academic track record.
• Exhibit leadership qualities and show a passion for enhancing the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

Application procedure:

Applicants will need to complete an online application, which includes:

• Providing general background information such as contact details and information about their current and intended universities.
• Submitting a resume/CV.
• Providing academic transcripts from their current institution.
• Responding to short answer essay questions.

Before commencing the application process, ensure you have the following documents ready for upload:

• A PDF copy of your resume. If applicable, please include details of any leadership roles, extracurricular activities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
• A PDF copy of your current or most recent transcript. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
