The government has transferred 24 high-ranking police officers, including an additional inspector general, as part of a major reshuffle within the force.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate orders on Wednesday, marking the second consecutive day of administrative changes in the police force.
According to the first order, 11 officials—including one additional IGP, four DIGs, three additional DIGs, and three Superintendents of Police (SPs) -- have been reassigned to new roles.
The second order detailed the transfer of nine officials, comprising three DIGs and six SPs.
A third notification confirmed the reshuffling of four more SP-rank officers.
Among those moved in the latest shuffle are Md Rezaul Karim, DIG of Police Telecom (who holds the rank of supernumerary additional IGP), and Md Majid Ali, the commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police.
This follows a Tuesday notification where the government transferred six SPs.
With Wednesday’s orders, a total of 30 police positions have been reshuffled within a 48-hour period.
