Some 4.6 kilometre of Padma Bridge is now visible as the 31st span has been installed at Jajira side of the river on Wednesday.
The latest span was placed on 25 and 26 number of piers.
Bridge Division Secretary MOhammad Belayet Hossain told the Financial Express that the 31st span was installed two days before due to forecast of depression.
He said two more spans are also ready to be placed soon and eight others will be installed by November.
Padma Multipurpose Bridge will have total 41 spans to build road-cum-rail 6.15 kilometre bridge on river Padma.
On the occasion of span placement, all kind of water vessel movement on the river was suspended on Shimulia-Kathalbari route in the morning.
